During the duration of FLORA, Martina Cakes offers a cake named after the festival, made with orange and orange blossom and decorated with manually pressed edible flowers.

Mutable (comes from mutatis mutandis, from Latin, which means “changing what has to be changed”) arises as a reflection on the influence that human beings have on the alterations that nature suffers. The collection presents a series of imagined biological systems with floral reminiscences made with plastic materials such as polycarbonate, polystyrene, acetates, acrylics and plasticine.

The works reflect the continuous evolution of forms that change through movement and growth on various circular surfaces where color prevails over the base, creating a three-dimensional plane in continuous expansion over space.

Córdoba is the essence of its patios and its flowers. The international expert in wine and gastronomy, Mara de Miguel, has developed a sensory experience for the Flora Festival, together with Bodegas Mezquita, to enjoy flowers through the palate, because flowers can also be tasted.

In this experience you can taste ten different types of flowers: from bittersweet ones, such as pansy, to roses, which are slightly spicy, to daisies, with a very special variety, such as the Sechuan flower, or better known like the electric flower, so called because it produces a slight cramp in the tongue.

Córdoba is, possibly, one of the provinces in Spain that has the most high-quality gastronomic products. In a relaxed and intoxicating atmosphere, two extra virgin olive oils, three wines and two styles of cheese will be tasted, a goat’s blue and a cured made in Cordoba, a balsamic vinegar aged for more than 25 years, achieving total harmony with all the elements of the workshop. A unique experience where the important thing is that the senses are on the surface.

The Polish-born artist Marta Chojnacka will fill the Ostin Macho exhibition space with works dedicated to nature and botany.

The Photography Classroom of the University of Córdoba organizes a workshop to introduce the technique of floral macro photography, accompanied by images taken by the members of the classroom.

Did you know that there are flowers that open at night? The plastic artist Almudena Castillejo proposes a nightly date where she will present some of them. Approach to botanical drawing accompanied by an aperitif and a glass of wine or a soft drink.

A photographic projection of the Cáustica collective. On this occasion, within the FLORA off festival, the collective will investigate the presence of flowers at different moments in the history of photography. We find in the floral representation multiple aesthetics that come from painting, rescuing its symbolic charge and its allegories. In addition, new strategies will be proposed that draw on the discourses of installation and conceptual art that renew and bring flowers to the present as eternal symbols of the ephemeral.

Led by Begoña Castillejo, this sweater customization workshop will be carried out through embroidery with floral motifs.

Pairing dinner based on dishes made with edible flowers, paired with wines that give off floral aromas, making this experience a true feast for the senses. A delight for the senses. The menu will be prepared by Juan Calzada, Chef of the Bodegas Mezquita group and the pairing will be directed by Manuel Fernández (elected as the 2nd best sommelier in Spain), who will guide us through each dish and each pairing.

In this activity, attendees will learn the magic of biodynamics and how it helps to understand the transmission of energy from nature to our hydrosol. We will talk about the main Iberian plants from which to obtain extractions, about the differences and particularities between hydrolates, floral waters and essential oils, and about their topical applications, both direct and combined through recipes for cosmetic preparations.

In addition, a sample of hydrosol extraction will be made through the traditional still distillation method, and each attendee will be able to take a portion to use at home.
