Challenges such as climate change, the mass extinction of species, the accelerated loss of biodiversity, the exhaustion of the intensive agro-food model and the degradation and fragmentation of ecosystems – the result of modes of production and consumption that ignore and violate the planet’s biophysical limits – urgently require us to imagine other ways of inhabiting and sharing the world. In this sense, the notion of One Health encourages a rethinking of the urban beyond the human, from agropolitan citizenships that place reception, flourishing and multi-species well-being at the heart of the community.
In order to enable these overflowing cities, an interdisciplinary and systemic dialogue that integrates urban, environmental and philosophical perspectives is necessary, a purpose to which this colloquium organised by Amasce, the Espacio Sociocultural Luciana Centeno and the Sociedad Cordobesa de Historia Natural (Cordoba Society of Natural History) aims to contribute.
