José Aumente Rubio

José Aumente Rubio is a biologist and teacher. He directed the hiking programmes of Córdoba’s Municipal Sports Board and the Córdoba Medical Association. He contributes to Diario Córdoba, where he has published more than 1,000 articles and contributed to several publications, including Guía de la naturaleza de Córdoba (1996) and Los ríos de Córdoba y sus paisajes (2017). He is the author of several works introducing the public to the natural environment of Córdoba, including Paisajes con historia (2001) and Calenda verde (2025). In 1998, Córdoba City Council awarded him the Chico Mendes Award for Environmental Protection.
