Since its creation in 2017, FLORA has proved to be a tool for positioning the city, contributing to the creation of its own identity and brand for Cordoba as the only international capital of contemporary floral art, attracting visitors and quality tourism and promoting the development of the city through actions focused on the generation of talent, proposals for collaboration between local and foreign artists and actions that highlight sustainability and care for the environment.
FLORA is an original project created, financed and promoted by Zizai Cultura, with the main sponsorship of the Cordoba City Council and supported by the main public institutions present in Cordoba.: Cordoba Cathedral Chapter, Cordoba Provincial Council, Cajasur Foundation – Palacio de Viana, and Loyola University. In addition, the festival has the support of numerous companies, institutions, associations and people from the city who, with their grain of sand, make the festival bigger every year.

Zizai Cultura was founded in 2016 with the aim of generating and promoting original cultural projects that help to transform the environment in which we live. Thus, in 2017, it created FLORA, International Flower Festival, a unique event in the world on contemporary floral art, a project financed entirely by Zizai in its first editions, which has been joined, little by little, by the most relevant institutions in Cordoba. With FLORA, Zizai seeks to work for the transformation of the city around the culture of something that is so much a part of Cordoba’s heritage, such as botany, plants and life around the courtyards.
In line with its work in favour of culture and social development, Cordoba City Council sponsors the FLORA Festival, an event which, by now, has become one of the great cultural events of Cordoba’s autumn.
FLORA contributes to projecting the city of Cordoba through plant art, as well as promoting our cultural values and signs of identity. It is a festival by and for all the people of Cordoba, which opens up our city to the world, promotes its economic development and teaches us to look to the future through culture and nature.
The Cabildo Catedral de Córdoba is once again participating in the celebration of FLORA in its 2024 edition, offering as an inspirational element the emblematic Patio de los Naranjos of the Mosque-Cathedral, where one of the installations of contemporary floral art that will make up the next edition will be housed. The chapter institution thus continues its long tradition of service to society and culture in Cordoba, which it has been providing for eight centuries.
The Cultural Delegation of the Cordoba Provincial Council is sponsoring FLORA with enthusiasm for the idea of bringing about a dialogue between plant culture, so closely linked to our identity, and contemporary art in a proposal that invites us to explore new languages and expressions that contribute to expanding the frontiers of this deep-rooted floral culture in Cordoba.
The Cultural Delegation of the Cordoba Provincial Council shares with FLORA the vocation to explore in a contemporary key the multiple capacities of art based on the world of plants, convinced that, as in previous editions, it will succeed in placing Cordoba in a space of living nature for creation.
The Palacio de Viana opens its facilities to contemporary floral creation, creating a unique space where you can smell, see and feel art. It also offers visitors a historical and sensory journey through its spaces: Viana treasures five centuries, twelve courtyards and infinite sensations.
In addition, Fundación Cajasur, together with FLORA, organises the programme of artistic assistants, which allows 18 people interested in floral art to live the experience of the festival working hand in hand with the guest artists.
Loyola University is once again joining the FLORA Festival as a sign of its firm commitment to the city of Cordoba and its support for initiatives that promote the international projection of the city, especially in an event such as this in which sustainability has a central presence and which connects art and culture and talent with the deep-rooted Cordovan floral tradition.
