Pablo Berástegui

A cultural producer with a solid professional track record, since January 2024 he has been at the helm of Fundación Montemadrid’s La Casa Encendida, where he is currently director of cultural and environmental programmes and centres.

Berástegui has managed large-scale projects in the past, such as Donostia/San Sebastián 2016, European Capital of Culture (2014–2017), PHotoEspaña, the International Festival of Photography and Visual Arts (2002–2006), and Madrid’s White Night festival (2007–2010 editions). He also has experience managing cultural venues like Matadero Madrid, where he worked as general coordinator from 2008 to 2012, and Conde Duque Madrid in 2013.

He has a special interest in photograph, and from 2019 to 2023 he was director of Salut au monde!, a programme of documentary photography exhibitions about alterity based in Porto, Portugal.
