Disbel Roque
Artist and cultural manager born in Holguín (Cuba, 1994) and based in Madrid. His work, which includes printmaking, installation, performance and collaborative practices, explores the relationship between the rural and the urban, proposing an urban identity connected to the rural and focused on sustainability. His practice focuses on ecological and social transition, highlighting projects such as Aquí hay vida, where he involves popular, scientific and artistic knowledge to make natural processes visible in the city.
Between 2020 and 2024, he worked with Inland Campo Adentro at the Centro de Acercamiento a lo Rural and has been coordinator of the Environment Area of La Casa Encendida. In 2024, he joined Paisanaje Association, an urban ecology project that seeks to recover traditional knowledge of the countryside and proposes new city models.
