Ikefrana | Nomadic Seeds
PATIO TALENTO 2025
A group of Dannish trolleys (carts commonly used by florists) supports a landscape that seems to have arisen by chance, from the wild beauty generated by the journey of nomadic seeds and the fertile disorder of plants and flowers growing freely. The result departs from floral centrepieces or closed compositions, giving rise instead to open scenes that evoke the persistence and autonomy of plant life, where the artist has also incorporated biomaterials he created himself from orange peels.
Against narratives of environmental collapse or solutions that place all faith in technology, Ikefrana proposes an alternative: to imagine the future not through the logic of control, but through active listening to the natural environment. Inspired by Gilles Clément’s concept of the “moving garden,” the artist envisions the future as a living ecosystem—fertile, unstable, and resilient. A space defined no longer by symmetry or ornament, but by adaptation, hybridity, and regenerative capacity.
“Florists no longer simply embellish with flowers and plants—we reflect, care, and return to the earth part of what we have received from it.”
