Far from cybernetic landscapes and apocalyptic messages, Carolin Ruggaber’s installation shows a truly beautiful example of coexistence between living nature and technology. Beyond the grandeur of the work, Fusion yields centre stage to light and living plants, and to the invisible symbiosis between them.
The installation focuses on enhancing the natural growth of its plants through the strategic use of mirrors, which redirect and intensify the light so that they absorb it evenly throughout the day. Hence, Ruggaber shows how human technology can support and complement plant life cycles without too much interference.
