Maurice Harris | A Colored Perspective
The expansive and vital charisma of Maurice Harris is transferred to his works, as we can experience in this courtyard of the Archaeological Museum, converted into an (almost literal) explosion of colour. In this courtyard of the Archaeological Museum, converted into an (almost) literal explosion of colour.
Curious by nature, Harris wanted to explore two ideas in this installation. On the one hand, the connections between the theory of colour and light with the concept of race: black absorbs light, white rejects it and, in this white rejects it and, in this play, the force of the rainbow enters like a torrent. On the other hand, the American artist draws our attention to the futility of trying to dominate nature: nature always finds a way to nature: it always finds a way to remind us of its supremacy. Do not the apparent naivety of a feast of colours: the invasion has begun.
