Putnam Flowers
Michael Putnam, creator of Putnam Flowers, is an acclaimed floral artist based in New York City. His organic, romantic aesthetic has enthralled prestigious fashion designers, top publications (Harper’s Bazaar, Vogue, New York Times, InStyle…) and a distinguished list of clients that includes some of the most famous celebrities in the world.
His “anarchic elegance”, as his style has been described, and amazing eye for colour—shared with thousands of readers in his books Flower Color Guide, Flower Color Theory and Rainbows in Bloom, which have been translated into several languages—have made him an icon of contemporary floristry. Teaching has also become an integral part of Putnam’s practice, leading him to give workshops in some of the most remarkable places around the world.
His creative vision is often inspired by his travels and the years he spent studying in Japan. All this has shaped Michael Putnam’s singular approach to floral installations, marked by his deep instincts and frank devotion to beauty.
