Miguel Álvarez-Fernández
Miguel Álvarez-Fernández (Madrid, 1979) studied piano and composition at the San Lorenzo de El Escorial Conservatory. Interested in electroacoustic creation, he continued his training in Spain (LIEM/CDMC, GME, Aula de Música de Alcalá) and Germany (Darmstadt, Stockhausen-Stiftung, TU Berlin). Between 2002 and 2005 he enjoyed a scholarship as a composer at the Residencia de Estudiantes in Madrid.
His installations and performances have been presented in Spain, France, Italy, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Macedonia, Serbia, Lithuania, Russia, Japan, the USA, etc. He regularly collaborates with artists such as Mar Aguiló, Israel Galván, Niño de Elche… He is the author of essays such as Luis de Pablo: inventario (2020) and La radio ante el micrófono (2021).
Since 2008, he has directed and presented the programme Ars Sonora on Radio Clásica (RNE), as well as the cycle of listening sessions Relatos del ruido, held monthly at the Cineteca de Matadero Madrid. He co-directs, together with Bruno Dozza, the Exploratorio del C3A (Córdoba).
