José María Manzano
He has studied Industrial Engineering in the US and has a PhD in automatic control systems. Professor at Loyola University, in subjects such as Automatic Vision, Artificial Intelligence, Domotics and Simulation of Systems and Vehicles. He is responsible for the ODS research group, where they research on smart agriculture, aquatic drones and more applications of intelligent control, from the operation of microgrids to insulin pumps.
In the ODS research group, they have studied artificial intelligence techniques to learn systems, and based on this they have developed controllers that allow them to operate safely and efficiently. For example, they are saving water on irrigation farms in Paraguay, controlled from the cloud; monitoring water quality with boats that navigate on their own; or learning to control insulin pumps automatically, with data specific to each patient.
