Harriet Parry
Unlike many other floral artists, fashion and the latest trends are not worlds in which Harriet Parry usually moves or finds inspiration to create her work, which is instead informed by art history. The English artist is known for her unfaltering use of colour, the playful appearance of her work and exquisite attention to detail, something that is not just a hallmark of her style; convinced that the frantic pace of our daily lives prevents us from focusing on what is truly important, she enriches her work with small details, in line with her goal of helping us slow down. Through her art, Parry invites viewers to stop, take “breaks” and find pleasure in observing.
Graduated in fine art, she admits to “seeing flowers” in anything and everything she contemplates. This has led her to become internationally renowned for her flower interpretations, in which she transforms paintings, fashion editorials, stills from TV series and a host of other images into flower arrangements. Her clients include The Royal Opera House, RHS Chelsea Flower Show, Gucci and the London Garden Museum and her work can be regularly seen in L’Officiel, Vogue and Interview.
