Flowgardenz
The multidisciplinary art collective created by Russian artists Vladimir Vanenkov (Uray, 1996) and Konstantin Bushmanov (San Petersburgo, 1984) works with different myths and concepts of contemporary culture in order to promote an alternative outlook to gardening and plant-inspired art. This has led them to work with the boldest brands and cultural institutions, such as GES-2 House of Culture, V-A-C Foundation, Gucci, Vogue, and Adidas.
Exiled from Russia two years ago due to their opposition to the present government, they live in Georgia where, through their art, they continue to raise awareness of different aspects with a common denominator: “we are one with nature”. “It’s time for humans to stop being the leading players who use nature as a backdrop”, declare Flowgardenz as if it were a manifesto. “We must take a back seat, change the scale, fade into the foliage, and become the same size as a flower”.
As a result of this entire philosophy, the Russian artists, winners of the Patio Talento FLORA 2023 competition, create scenes and installations that nurture fluidity, which is present in the very name of the group (flow). Flowgardenz dreams of a garden with blurred boundaries, of no specific location, gender or time.
