| Under the Olive Tree
Under the Olive Tree is an original musical project that began with a photo of an olive tree next to the Parthenon in Greece and a shared love of Mediterranean culture and music. Made up of musicians from Morocco, Greece, Spain, Iraq and Iran, their dynamic repertoire includes both original compositions and traditional pieces. From flamenco to Greek folk music, Under the Olive Tree immerses the audience in a world of fascinating rhythms and melodies, where each musician expresses their art in an incredible connection with each other and with the audience.
For thousands of years, the olive tree has been and continues to be of crucial importance for the regions and peoples of the Mediterranean basin, and its branches are a universal symbol of peace. The olive tree serves as the inspiration for this extraordinary encounter between musicians from different backgrounds.
With original compositions and traditional pieces, Under the Olive Tree establishes a dynamic dialogue between the musicians. “Music unites us, and under the olive tree we hope to rediscover our roots and our ties”, in the words of the musicians themselves.
