Versonautas | Prelude to Slowness (A Bath of Life)
A sound poem, a collective meditation. Prelude to Slowness (A Bath of Life) is the result of a yearning for serenity that invites us to delegate to contemplation and listening the possibility of freeing ourselves. Designed to be enjoyed at FLORA and Hammam Al-Ándalus, this artistic and musical experience created by Versonautas invites us to let go in a resonance that does not understand language.
Prelude to Slowness (A Bath of Life) proposes to enter the waters of the Hammam as a place of metamorphosis: to leave behind an illusory self to merge into a deep self, in full communion with nature, starting from a multi-species vision of reality.
Cordoba has inspired Versonautas in this stage piece that unites, through poetry and the rite of the purifying bath, the water-related wisdom of two great mystical traditions, very present in the city: Sufi and Christian. Water transcends its material reality, becoming a sacred gift of renewal, liberation, fertility and abundance.
SHOWS: on 18 and 19 October at 7.30pm there will be a short preview of Prelude to Slowness (A Bath of Life) in the Tea Room of the Hammam Al-Ándalus, with free admission until full capacity is reached. The full show will be performed in the bathing area on 20 October in two shows, tickets available for purchase at www.cordoba.hammamalandalus.com
