Unique! is much more than a show: it is a collective cry of freedom, a performative celebration where all identities are honoured. Inspired by ballroom culture—a movement that emerged in the 1970s in Harlem, New York, as a response to the exclusion of racialised and LGTBIQ+ communities—Unique! is a contemporary homage to those clandestine halls where, in the face of adversity, a cultural and emotional revolution blossomed.
