Hive of the Future
With bees and the future as guiding threads, neighbours and visitors are invited to a morning of art and collaborative action: the collective creation of an artistic mural, workshops, the vegetal revitalisation of the courtyard, and live drawing. With the collaboration of Asociación Cordobesa para la Integración de Niñas y Niños Border Line (ACOPINB), Asociación de Vecinos “Regina Magdalena”, IMGEMA – Real Jardín Botánico de Córdoba (Ayuntamiento de Córdoba) and Urban Sketchers Córdoba.
Together with CIMI (Juvenile Detention Centre) Sierra Morena, managed by ADIS Meridianos, a programme of activities will be held on Sunday 19 October for all audiences, aimed more directly at families, where FLORA and ADIS Meridianos wish to help the youngest participants connect with botany.
These activities take place in the vacant lot on Calle Alfonso XII, the former Andalucía cinema, which is being transformed into a green space with a forest and urban gardens, as part of the Hisla project, whose aim is to re-naturalise abandoned or disused spaces within the city’s historic centre.

CIMI SIERRA MORENA
From 11.00 to 15.00 h. Artistic mural. Designed and created by the students of the graphic arts workshop at the Sierra Morena Juvenile Centre.
From 11.00 to 13.00 h. Workshop on making bees (with recycled materials) to decorate flowerpots. Activity for children.
A.C.O.P.I.N.B.
From 11.00 to 13.00 h. Workshop “Gardener bees”: especially designed for children, where they will decorate flowerpots with bee drawings, painting black and yellow stripes with easy-to-use materials. They will then plant seasonal flowers. The workshop will be guided by young people with intellectual disabilities, who will share their ideas and creativity, serving as an example of inclusion. The activities will be adapted so that all children can take part and enjoy themselves while helping to care for nature.
From 11.00 to 13.00 h. Planting workshop of ornamental and melliferous species in the ground. In this open-to-the-public workshop, different ornamental and melliferous species will be planted together in the grounds of the former Andalucía cinema, helping bees and other pollinators to enhance local biodiversity. The activity is carried out in collaboration with IMGEMA – Real Jardín Botánico de Córdoba, which provides guidance and plants selected for their ecological value. The space will be accessible, with tools and support so that anyone, with or without disabilities, can participate and enjoy while we all take care of the environment together.

ASOCIACIÓN DE VECINOS “REGINA MAGDALENA”
From 11.00 to 13.00 h. Exhibition Photographs of birds and nature on the banks of the Guadalquivir. A natural space also for the future. Its author, Pepe Larios, highlights the role of birds as spreaders of biodiversity and as key agents in seed dispersal, pest control and pollination. In collaboration with the Municipal Department of Citizen Participation.
From 11.00 to 13.00 h. Small concert “Music and Nature”. A small-format classical music concert to enliven the morning’s activities. Organised in collaboration with Cultura en Red, Municipal Department of Culture.
